    Description

    Piher was founded by the Piqueras brothers, Ricardo and Juan, in 1957 who introduced and patented their piston clamping system. Until then, all clamping tools used a single threaded screw to generate pressure. The piston clamping system is unique in that it uses dual-threaded screws with both upper and lower threads encased inside a metal cylinder. These dual threads are threaded opposite one another and work together to multiply the force produced by 40% and the speed it takes to open/close jaws by 50%. In addition, the clamp pad advances like a piston the no rotation or twisting forces. The piston clamping system patented by Piher decades ago is essentially the same one Piher is using today in many of their clamp models.
